New Image: M101 – Pinwheel Galaxy

Hello fellow Star Gazers,

after a week of postprocessing and having PixInsight crash on me on several occasions, I finally finished processing my new version of the Pinwheel Galaxy. I am not too happy with the result, especially in terms of color. But it looks adequate enough to post it and I honestly don’t have any more nerves dealing with that image anymore.

So without further ado, you can find the full image with every bit of general, technical and postprocessing details, including full annotated images by following the link to the image below:

M101 – Pinwheel Galaxy

Anything of value I learned? Save projects often in PixInsight and dither in both RA and Dec in a spiral pattern.
